How does the first consultation work?
The physician reviews symptoms, timeline, past illnesses, family history, medicines, supplements and daily habits. Bring previous results and blood-pressure or glucose records. An examination guides which questions need testing first. Adults with several conditions can use one coordinated review to organise priorities and appropriate referrals.

Which tests are appropriate?
A blood count, glucose/HbA1c, kidney, liver, lipid or thyroid tests may be selected according to the problem. Urine tests, ECG or imaging are used when relevant. Broad panels and repeated CT scans are not automatically necessary. The clinic explains fasting or medication preparation; do not stop prescribed treatment independently.

Diabetes, blood pressure and metabolic health
Targets depend on age, complications and other conditions. Nutrition, activity, smoking cessation and suitable medicines are discussed together. Follow-up may include kidney, eye or cardiovascular assessment. A single improved result does not mean treatment can be stopped; changes should be made with the treating physician.

Anaemia and deficiencies: why investigate the cause?
Fatigue alone cannot establish a deficiency. Blood results and history help distinguish iron, B12, folate and other causes. Bleeding, nutritional intake and absorption may need investigation. Replacement dose and duration are individual. Persistent anaemia, neurological symptoms or concerning findings may require gastroenterology, haematology or another specialist.

When is referral to another specialty needed?
Endocrinology, nephrology, cardiology, gastroenterology, haematology or other teams may be involved depending on findings. The hospital confirms the most suitable doctor; not every investigation or advanced treatment is part of a routine internal-medicine visit.

Medicines and follow-up
Review prescription drugs, painkillers, supplements, allergies and previous adverse effects. Medicines may require adjustment for kidney or liver function. Do not change doses yourself. Obtain a written plan covering goals, repeat tests, monitoring, warning signs and the next appointment. Chronic illnesses often require continuing care with local clinicians after travel.

Which symptoms require urgent care?
Chest pain, severe breathlessness, fainting, new weakness or speech problems, vomiting blood, black stools, confusion or rapidly worsening illness need urgent local assessment. Marked thirst with vomiting or drowsiness can also be serious. Do not wait for a travel appointment or message; in Türkiye call 112 for emergencies.
