Dermatology in Türkiye | MPGCARE

MPGCARE coordinates specialist assessment at suitable Medical Park and Liv Hospital partner centers in Türkiye. The receiving hospital, clinician and available services are confirmed individually. A clinical examination and review of previous records guide the plan; photographs or a remote inquiry do not establish a diagnosis or guarantee a procedure.
Dermatology assesses diseases of the skin, scalp, hair, nails and relevant mucosal areas. The plan considers symptoms, skin type, sun exposure, medicines and health history. Medical diagnosis takes priority before cosmetic procedures or treatment of a changing skin lesion.

Skin, hair and nail conditions assessed

The examples below describe possible assessment pathways. The clinician chooses investigations and care according to findings, alternatives, medical history and informed consent.

Condition or concern Assessment and treatment options Planning and follow-up
Acne and acne scars Assess inflammatory lesions, comedones and scarring; topical or selected systemic treatment. Control active disease before a separate scar-treatment plan.
Atopic eczema and contact dermatitis Review distribution, skin-barrier care and exposures; selected patch testing. Identify triggers and use an individualized anti-inflammatory plan.
Psoriasis Examine skin, nails and joint symptoms; topical, light or selected systemic treatment. Monitor chronic disease and refer for suspected joint involvement.
Rosacea Assess redness, inflammatory lesions and eye symptoms; skin care and selected medicines/procedures. Painful or visually affected eyes need prompt ophthalmic review.
Urticaria and angioedema Review episodes and triggers; selected investigations and treatment. Breathing difficulty or tongue/throat swelling requires emergency help.
Fungal skin and nail infections Clinical examination, selected microscopy/culture before suitable treatment. Nail changes are not always fungal; systemic medicines require risk review.
Warts, molluscum and selected viral skin disease Clinical diagnosis; observation, topical care or selected removal. Discuss recurrence, transmission and site-specific risks.
Bacterial skin infection and recurrent boils Assess severity and possible culture; appropriate antimicrobial care or drainage. Rapid spread, fever or systemic illness needs urgent review.
Scabies and other infestations Examine symptoms and contacts; clinician-directed treatment and household advice. Contact management helps prevent reinfestation.
Vitiligo and pigment disorders Assess depigmentation or pigmentation and differential causes. Individual topical/light options and sun protection; response varies.
Changing moles, melanoma and other skin cancers Skin examination and dermoscopy; biopsy of suspicious lesions when indicated. Pathology determines next steps; cosmetic laser must not replace diagnosis.
Actinic keratoses and sun damage Review affected areas and cancer risk; selected lesion or field treatment. Sun protection and surveillance remain important.
Hair loss: pattern loss, alopecia areata and scarring alopecia Scalp examination, selected trichoscopy, tests or biopsy. Identify cause before medication or any transplant decision.
Nail disorders Assess inflammation, trauma, infection and pigment changes. A new unexplained dark nail band warrants specialist assessment.
Hidradenitis suppurativa Assess recurrent painful nodules, tunnels and scars; medical and selected surgical care. Long-term planning; this is not simply poor hygiene.
Blistering and autoimmune skin disease Selected biopsy, blood tests and multidisciplinary evaluation. Treatment and infection-risk monitoring depend on diagnosis.
Drug eruptions Review timing and medicines; assess skin and mucosal involvement. Severe blistering, fever or mucosal sores needs urgent care.
Persistent itching and skin lesions in children Age-appropriate examination; consider eczema, infection and systemic causes. Treatment depends on diagnosis, not a photograph alone.

The first visit and diagnostic tools
Bring a symptom timeline, photos showing earlier changes, medicine list and previous pathology. Examination may include dermoscopy, fungal sampling, selected patch testing or a skin biopsy. These tests answer different questions: patch testing evaluates selected delayed contact allergies, while biopsy examines tissue. Not every patient needs every test; results and pathology may require a later discussion.

Acne treatment and scar procedures
The clinician balances acne severity, scarring risk, prior treatment and pregnancy considerations. Topical care and selected oral medicines require correct use and review. Isotretinoin is considered only after suitability assessment and requires specific safety monitoring and pregnancy-prevention precautions where applicable. Scar treatments such as selected resurfacing, microneedling or other procedures have separate indications and risks; several sessions may be needed and complete scar removal is not guaranteed.

Eczema, psoriasis and long-term control
Barrier care, moisturizers and prescribed anti-inflammatory treatment are tailored to site and severity. Strong topical steroids should not be used indefinitely or on sensitive sites without instructions. Phototherapy and systemic or biological treatment are selected after review of benefits, infection risks and required screening. Chronic disease may flare again; the written plan should explain maintenance, review dates and when to seek help.

Moles, biopsy and skin-cancer pathways
A new, changing, bleeding or non-healing lesion should be assessed promptly. Dermoscopy helps examination but does not replace pathology when biopsy is indicated. Biopsy type and further removal depend on the lesion; diagnosis and margins guide referral or surgery. Do not arrange cosmetic removal of a suspicious lesion before medical assessment. Skin-cancer care can require a multidisciplinary plan and continuing surveillance.

Hair, nails and pigment concerns
Hair loss has several causes, and active scarring disease needs prompt assessment. Selected blood tests or biopsy may be useful, rather than routine vitamin packages for everyone. Nail thickening can reflect trauma or inflammation as well as fungus. Vitiligo and pigmentation treatments depend on diagnosis, skin type and exposure. Results and timing vary; hair transplantation and aesthetic procedures require separate suitability assessment.

Medical and aesthetic procedures: what must be confirmed?
Selected cryotherapy, lesion removal, light-based therapy or aesthetic procedures may be considered after diagnosis. Ask about the treating physician, device/procedure, anesthesia, number of sessions, sun avoidance and aftercare. Burns, altered pigmentation, scarring, infection and incomplete response are possible, with risks varying by skin type. A listed option does not mean the service is available at every partner hospital.

Medicines, pregnancy and infection precautions
Disclose pregnancy or plans to conceive, breastfeeding, allergies, immunosuppression and all medicines. Some dermatology drugs require laboratory follow-up, pregnancy precautions or infection screening; the dermatologist specifies the plan. Do not share prescription creams or stop systemic treatment independently. For contagious conditions, contact and household advice and fitness to travel should be confirmed.

Urgent symptoms and follow-up after travel
Seek immediate local care for breathing difficulty, tongue/throat swelling, a widespread painful blistering rash, mucosal sores with illness, or rapidly spreading infection with fever. Changing or non-healing lesions also deserve prompt assessment. Follow-up should state wound care, review of pathology, medicine monitoring and a contact for deterioration. Remote photographs may support review but cannot replace examination when a procedure or urgent condition requires it.

Preparing records, appointments and a written plan
Share current symptoms, their timeline, existing reports, a medicine list, allergies and relevant previous treatment. The specialist determines which tests and appointments are needed. Ask for a written scope distinguishing consultation, investigations, procedures, medicines and follow-up, with report timing and arrangements for complications. No universal duration or guaranteed outcome applies to every patient.

MPGCARE travel coordination and continuity of care
MPGCARE helps organize records, appointments and communication with the confirmed Medical Park or Liv Hospital partner center. Free Sarp–Trabzon transfer and airport–hospital transfer for patients arriving by air are arranged after confirming route, timing and accompanying persons. Medical fitness to travel, accommodation, extra visits and local follow-up must be clarified before departure.
