Family Medicine and Preventive Health
When symptoms involve more than one concern or the right specialty is unclear, a family medicine consultation can provide a coordinated starting point. The physician considers your current complaints together with medical history, medicines and everyday health needs. MPGCARE helps arrange an appropriate appointment in Türkiye; the accepting clinician, age groups and services are confirmed before your visit.
What can a family physician assess?
Common reasons for consultation include ongoing tiredness, recurring non-emergency symptoms, blood-pressure concerns, medication questions and follow-up of established conditions. The physician considers possible causes, performs an examination and decides whether primary care management or referral is appropriate. Some concerns need direct assessment by a specialist or emergency team.
Your first consultation
Bring a clear timeline of symptoms, known diagnoses, allergies, operations and a current medication list, including supplements. Previous blood tests, imaging reports and hospital discharge summaries help avoid unnecessary repetition. The doctor reviews relevant findings, discusses your priorities and explains what additional information is needed.
Tests are chosen for a clinical reason
Blood pressure, weight and other measurements may be useful. Laboratory tests or imaging are selected according to symptoms, age, history and individual risk. A broad scan or an extensive laboratory package is not automatically appropriate for everyone. Normal screening results do not exclude every illness; new or persistent symptoms still need assessment.
Prevention and long-term health
A consultation can address smoking, physical activity, nutrition, sleep and age-appropriate prevention. Blood-pressure, cholesterol or diabetes risk assessment may be considered individually. Vaccine history and screening needs are reviewed with the relevant clinician; availability and eligibility are confirmed rather than assumed from a standard package.
Follow-up of existing conditions
For hypertension, diabetes or other established illnesses, the physician may review symptoms, readings, medication use and monitoring needs. Treatment targets and review intervals are personalized. Complex disease or deterioration may require a specialist. Do not stop or adjust medicines on your own; bring home measurements with dates when available.
International patients and continuity
Before travel, explain the reason for consultation and share available reports through the agreed channel. Ask whether fasting or other preparation is needed only after the appointment plan is confirmed. Clarify the language, clinician, likely investigations and costs. A written summary and local follow-up plan help your usual doctor continue care after you return.
Frequently asked questions
Is family medicine the same as a full check-up? No. A consultation addresses clinical needs; preventive testing is selected separately.
Can all problems be treated in one visit? Some need further tests, monitoring or another specialty.
Should urgent symptoms wait? No. Severe chest pain, major breathing difficulty, sudden weakness or a rapidly worsening condition requires urgent local care.
How MPGCARE helps
MPGCARE supports appointment scheduling, record sharing and communication with the confirmed healthcare provider. Medical evaluation, prescriptions and referrals remain the physician’s responsibility. Travel should be planned after the appointment and clinical pathway are clarified; an initial remote review does not replace examination.
